Attendance and Absence

Attendance and punctuality at school is in-line with the National Average.  Absence from school is low. For 2021/22 the authorised absence rate for this year is 3.1% and the unauthorised rate was 0.7%, with a 96.2% attendance rate.  Our attendance policy can be found below.

If your child has to be absent from school, school should be contacted to advise of your child's non-attendance, explaining the circumstances. Please phone the office on 01995 603023 and leave a message.  If time out is required during school hours, this must be requested (in writing) in advance. A request form for this purpose is available from the school office.

School is obliged to keep records of absences during the year, including those for children arriving late. The government is setting targets for authorised and unauthorised absence levels.

Should you wish to request leave of absence for your child from school, please download a request form below and return to the school office. Please note: not all leave of absence is approved and you will be notified in writing with regards to the decision made by the headteacher. Thank you.
