PTA

Welcome to the PTA section.

 

The PTA exists to organise social functions and to support the school by raising additional funds.

 

We are a small, friendly committee who generally meet every month on zoom, where we discuss fundraising opportunities and social events for our school.

 

We have a private facebook page – SSMM School Association – where we keep parents updated with events, using the page to appeal for donations and volunteers and where you can keep informed about future activities.  You can also find information about our PTA on the weekly school newsletter.

 

Examples of the type of events we organise are:

 

·        Discos for the children

·        Quiz nights

·        Easter Chocolate Bingo

·        Christmas raffle

·        Our annual fun night in July, and much more!

 

The emphasis of PTA is always on having FUN, building a social community as well as making money, although we have raised substantial funds, which school has used for:-

 

·        New lighting and sound equipment in the school hall

·        A new reading system for the whole school

·        We support annually of the visit of the Life Education bus, school trips etc

·        Contributions towards the cost of the annual year 6 trip to Waterpark and much more. 

·        a playground upgrade and re vamp- trim trail on our field

 

You can help raise funds without even trying when you shop online- through Easy Fundraising.  If you go to the website via the Easy Fundraising page, a % of what you spend at that site comes to the school – participating retailers include Amazon and eBay so it’s a fantastic way to contribute and it all adds up!  One parent booked a holiday and raised over £80 just by going via the Easy Fundraising page.

 

We have also recently launched our School Lottery – this is a fantastic way to support the school long term.  The lottery is facilitated by an external company – its really easy to sign up via their website, tickets are just £1 per week .  Draws take place each Saturday evening and there is a winner from our school every week – the more people who join us, the higher the weekly prize.  Your tickets are also entered into the nationwide draw each week where you can win £25,000.
